Cookie Policy
This site sets no cookies at all — no analytics, no advertising, no session cookies. That is unusual enough to be worth stating plainly rather than hiding behind a generic banner.
Demonstration project. Juniper & Bean Café is a portfolio piece rather than a trading business. This policy describes the site’s real technical behaviour, but has not been reviewed by a lawyer.
What is actually stored
One item, and only after you answer the banner:

This is strictly necessary storage: it exists solely to honour a choice you made. Under UK and EU rules that category does not require consent, which is why there is no toggle for it.
The map
The Home page shows where the café is. Those map tiles are served by Esri, drawing on OpenStreetMap and other data. Loading them means your browser contacts Esri’s servers directly, which discloses your IP address, your browser’s user agent, and which tiles you asked for.
Esri sets no cookie on our behalf, and we receive nothing back from them — but it is still your data going somewhere you didn’t choose, so the map does not load until you say so. With it switched off you still get the address, opening hours and working directions links.
Outbound links
“Order on DoorDash” and the Google/Apple directions buttons are ordinary links. Nothing loads from those companies while you are on this site, and they are not told you clicked — but once you arrive, their policies apply.
What we deliberately don’t do
- No Google Analytics or any other analytics.
- No advertising, retargeting or conversion pixels.
- No social media embeds or share widgets.
- No externally hosted fonts. Typefaces are served from this site, so no font provider sees your visit.
Changing your mind
Open the settings panel at any time and switch the map on or off. The change takes effect immediately.
You can also clear site data in your browser, which removes the stored choice entirely. See also our Privacy Policy.
