Privacy Policy
This is a short policy because this is a small website. It does not run analytics, it does not advertise, and it has no accounts to sign into. The sections below describe exactly what happens when you visit.
Demonstration project. Juniper & Bean Café is a portfolio piece rather than a trading business. The café, its address, contact details and testimonials are invented. This policy is written as a realistic working template — it has not been reviewed by a lawyer and should be before any real business relies on it.

What we collect
Nothing that identifies you, on our side. There is no contact form, no newsletter sign-up, no account, no shopping basket and no payment processing on this site. We do not set advertising or analytics cookies, and we do not build profiles of visitors.
Stored on your device
One entry in your browser’s local storage, jb-consent-v1, recording the cookie choice you made. It never leaves your device and we cannot read it. Clearing your browser data removes it and we will simply ask again.
Handled by others
Two things on this site can involve a third party, and both are described in full in the Cookie Policy:
- The map. If you allow it, map tiles load from Esri. That request necessarily tells them your IP address, browser and which part of the map you are viewing. It stays switched off until you opt in.
- Outbound links. Choosing “Order on DoorDash” or a directions link hands you off to that company, whose own privacy policy then applies. We are not told that you clicked.
Server logs
Whoever hosts this site will keep standard access logs — IP address, timestamp, page requested, user agent — for security and troubleshooting. This is ordinary web-server behaviour and is not used to identify individuals.
Why we may process anything at all
Where UK/EU data protection law applies, our lawful bases are consent for loading the third-party map, and legitimate interests for keeping the site available and secure. You can withdraw consent at any time from Cookie settings without affecting anything you did beforehand.
Sharing
We do not sell, rent or trade personal information. We have no advertising partners and no data brokers. The only disclosure is the technical one described above, and only after you allow it.
Retention
We hold no personal data ourselves, so there is nothing for us to retain. Your consent record lives on your device until you clear it. Host access logs are kept per the host’s own schedule, typically a few weeks.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, port or object to the processing of your personal data — for example under the UK GDPR and EU GDPR, or under state laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act. Because we do not hold personal data about visitors, most of these have nothing to act on, but you are welcome to write to us and we will answer.
Children
This site is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Changes
If this policy changes materially we will update the date below and, for anything affecting consent, ask again.
